how to get unstuck by acknowledging You’re Not Stuck — You’re Avoiding Something

We tell ourselves we’re stuck.

Stuck in our careers.

Stuck in our relationships.

Stuck in patterns we can’t seem to break.

But more often than not… that’s not actually true.

Because when you slow things down—when you really look honestly at what’s going on—it usually isn’t confusion that’s keeping you where you are.

It’s avoidance.

What Are You Actually Avoiding?

Not in a harsh, judgmental way.

In a very human way.

  • The conversation you know you need to have

  • The decision that’s been sitting quietly in the back of your mind

  • The discomfort that comes with choosing something different

And it makes sense.

Staying where you are can feel safer than stepping into the unknown. Even if it’s not working, it’s familiar.

Change asks something of you.

It asks you to feel things you’ve been trying not to feel.

It asks you to risk things you can’t fully control.

The Truth About “Clarity”

So instead, we tell ourselves:

“I just need more clarity.”

“I’m not ready yet.”

“I’ll figure it out soon.”

But here’s the truth:

Clarity usually isn’t missing. It’s being ignored.

You already know what isn’t working.

You already feel the pull toward something different.

You already have a sense of what your next step could be.

It might not be perfect.

It might not feel comfortable.

But it’s there.

The Work Isn’t What You Think

The work isn’t always about figuring everything out.

It’s about being willing to see what’s already there.

To sit with it.

To accept it.

And then… to choose anyway.

Not perfectly.

Not all at once.

Just one honest step at a time.

Because your life doesn’t change when you “figure it all out.”

It changes the moment you stop pretending you don’t already know.

A Simple Place to Start

If this resonates, don’t try to change everything overnight.

Start here:

  • What’s one thing you’ve been avoiding?

  • What do you already know, but haven’t acted on?

  • What would one small, honest step look like today?

You don’t need to be fearless.

You just need to be willing.

Ready to Explore how to get unstuck?

If you’re feeling stuck and this brought something up for you… there’s likely more clarity already there than you think.

Sometimes you just need space to slow down, look at it honestly, and take that next step with support to get unstuck.
